Happy Wonderful Wednesday!! I want to welcome you to my world!! It’s gonna be an amazing today ….it’s gonna be another page to add to your story!! Today I choose to wear strength!!!
She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. Proverbs 31:25 (NLT)
This scripture has always been an encouragement to me… But more often than not, instead of taking it on board as my stance in life, I find myself thinking “WOW, I really wish this were me…” It has at times been a heartache wish or hope of who I would like to be, rather than an encouragement.
I know that there have been times through our day to day activities in life, that we sometimes feel clothed with frustration and tiredness, lack and emptiness… frowning at the very thought of having to do it all again tomorrow
. So, we find ourselves looking ahead with worry and apprehension… instead of peace and strength.
We were not designed to live under the heavy weight of worry or frustration… our hearts are not meant to have that annoying itch of “if only and what if” attacking it daily. I have learned (the hard way) that when this happens we have become too focused on ourselves and our own resources, instead of centering ourselves in Christ and allowing Him to be our portion; our strength in weakness, peace in frustration and fear, our hope for tomorrow.
When we choose to rise each day trusting in Jesus, taking Him at His word, and truly living in His strength and purpose…our spirits become lighter, our smile becomes brighter , and we stand taller! It is then that we are clothed in strength and dignity.
Don’t allow these two beautiful garments to just lie on the floor collecting dust and slowly being forgotten, but take hold of the strength of Christ and the dignity of His resurrection and redemption and place them firmly upon your shoulders. Wear them proudly.
When we are clothed with strength and dignity, we can hold out heads up high by the love and grace of Christ, you can’t help but replace worry with laughter, and fear with a confident smile that no matter what we face today or tomorrow, we have hope and a future!
I have come to understand (I heard this rich word several months ago sitting around a kitchen table Jesus session) this scripture isn’t just for women, it can be applied to everyone and is ultimately a picture of the Church – the bride of Christ. It’s who God has purposed us to be in our communities! A place where people can find strength in the midst of their weakness, restoring dignity to those who are weighed down, and giving hope to the broken so they can smile at their future.
So today on this wonderful, “Wear it Wednesday” I ask you to pickup that beautiful cloak of strength and dignity, wear it every day and learn to laugh with joy at what is to come and the hope that fills your tomorrow.
Be blessed, be bold, and be you!
