Wear It Wednesday

Good morning beautiful!! Welcome to my world today, we once again celebrate our “Wear it Wednesday”! Above all else today wear your smile because it’s gonna be a good day! How do I know that?? Because you are HIS beloved child!!
Several weeks ago as I was working in my daily diary I was faced with a writing prompt that totally stopped me in my tracks and caused me a moment of deep thought!
“What would I tell a younger me”, now I don’t know about you but that was a thought-provoking question. My first thought was to blurt out, “buy lots of Walmart & Apple stock”, then I would follow that by saying, “keep your things …vintage becomes very popular”! All joking a side I gathered up my supplies and decided to take Daisy for a walk instead of completing my diary.
A younger me … what advice would I tell a younger me???? I think I would say, “Kecia, learn to love yourself! Because you are worth loving”.
Or maybe I would say, “Kecia, no matter what they tell you, God is not angry at you! He loves you and you are HIS beloved daughter!”
I know I would most definitely tell myself, “Kecia, never forget there are two sides to every story and everyone deserves to be heard.”
It took me two days to finish that writing prompt. As I read back over each sentence I felt as though daily I would want to change things, delete things, and add things. There are things that I decided I wouldn’t tell a younger me for fear it would cause me to shy away from them. Things that caused pain and uncertainty BUT were totally worth it . At the bottom of my journal page I penned this, “Kecia, you are more than enough!!! Joey and your 3 children are worth it so always fight for them!! Keep your focus on Jesus”!
Don’t take yourself so seriously all the time. Laugh. Often. Laugh from your belly whenever possible, letting the tears run down your cheeks.
So, I would like to invite you to share one thing in the comment’s section that you would tell your younger self . For everyone who leaves a comment on this, “Wear it Wednesday” another entry will be added to our March jewelry drawing!
Be blessed, be bold and be you!

  4. Wow… that is a hard question… but maybe I would tell my younger self that it’s ok not to know exactly who you are yet. You change so much as you grow older and as you grow in the Lord! Take care of yourself and love yourself for who you are at the moment! XOXO β™‘

  5. This is tough because every mis-step I took every lie I believed brought me to decisions that led me down paths that brought me right here. So if I was going to tell my younger self anything it would be to hug Chelsea longer….Kiss Tim deeper….make Crosby laugh daily….laugh louder…..cry without apology and thank God for all things…good, bad and ugly!

    1. That’s so true ! If we knew everything that was coming we would probably run and hide ! But learning to love deeper, laugh longer, and enjoy every moment are life lessons that sometimes we never fully understand. Thank you for sharing ! You have another entry in our March drawing😘xoxo

  6. I would say, ” know that your days are not always going to be easy, as a matter of fact they may be hard. But, when you know that some how some way you’re going to make it, it makes the process a little easier.” every person in my life good, bad or indifferent has helped me become who I am today. So, for that I say, Thank You! Be you,
your uniqueness is just what someone else needs.

  7. As i respond to the question tears flow down my face! I would have been kinder and more understanding of my younger self. I would not have been my own worst critic.I would not have allowed people to mishandle me like they did. Yet, as i have been on this journey of self acceptance nothing has been wasted!! God has taken the broken places and healed them and allowed me to invest them into other peoples brokeness!! I have been set free and learned who I am in Christ…People no longer have the power to define my worth!! I have traveled back to the younger me and have allowed her heart to be healed!!! Watch out world..here I come!!!

    1. Self acceptance…. that’s the key and I love that through our own journey we can help others with theirs. We’ve realized that nothing is wasted… and He has given us beauty for ashes , we just need to see the beauty and accept it ! Thank you for sharing😘 xoxo! You have one entry in our March drawing! 😘

  8. I’ve rewritten this 10 times so here we go your feelings are valid and no amount of pushing them down or hiding them will help you because in the long run you’re just damaging your mental state further, but one day it will be okay maybe not tomorrow or in 5 years maybe not even in 25 but one day it will be okay. Just remember that if you feel like you’re drowning you’ll eventually hit the bottom and it might hurt but it will be solid and you will be solid (not sure if that even makes sense but yeah that’s what I’d say)

  9. I would tell my younger self don’t allow others perception of you become your reality! Be uniquely you! Own it and walk boldly into your future! Forgive yourself for mistakes you are going to make and above see yourself the way He sees you! Put on God goggles and never take them off!

  10. Wow. I love this… I would tell myself at the age of 10, 11 and 12 to not let the deaths of my grandparents (one every year for 3 years in a row) affect me the way they did. To tell people about how sad I was they passed away and to find joy in the fact that I would see them again someday. I would also tell myself don’t blame God for taking them away because that has significantly affected my relationship with God even to this day…. and on a funnier note, I would tell myself to hold on tight, I would have my first kid just 3 weeks before turning 19!

    1. Wow, thank you for sharing !! Losing a loved one is so hard and many times I have seen adults discount a child’s feelings. Isn’t it nice to know that the wisdom we have now we can use it to help someone else through their pain. Omg 😍! I was married at 19 a mom by 21, I totally understand what you are saying xoxo! 11. I would tell my younger self to slow down. Enjoy every day that God gives me. Enjoy the people God has put into my life. Life goes by so quickly. Cherish the little things, make the hugs and kisses last longer. Don’t worry about the future it is in God’s quite capable hands.
